How we work
Technology does the repetitive work. A person checks it.
A lot of "AI bookkeeping" means nobody ever looks at your books. We built it the other way: software handles the volume, a person reviews it every month before it's called done.
Why it's built this way
Software is fast. Judgment isn't automatic.
Most of bookkeeping — categorizing a recurring vendor, matching a bank transaction to your books — is repetitive and rule-based. That part, software does well, consistently, every time. But not every transaction is routine. An unusual charge, a one-off payment, something that doesn't match a known pattern — that's where judgment matters, and that's where we don't let software guess. It gets flagged and reviewed by a person before anything is finalized in your books.
The process
What happens each month
Transactions come in from QuickBooks
We read your existing QuickBooks data — the bank feed you already have connected. Nothing new to set up on your end.
Known transactions are categorized automatically
Recurring vendors, regular bills, familiar patterns — categorized the same way, every time. Consistent, and fast.
Anything unclear is flagged, not guessed
If a transaction doesn't clearly match a known pattern, it doesn't get auto-categorized. It goes into a review queue instead.
A person reviews the flagged items and reconciliation
Before your books are called done for the month, a person checks the exceptions and confirms your bank balance actually ties out.
You get reconciled statements
A P&L and balance sheet you can actually rely on — for taxes, a loan application, or just knowing where you stand.
The honest tradeoff
Why this keeps the price down — and what it doesn't cover
Because software handles the repetitive part, we can charge a flat $145/month instead of hourly bookkeeper rates. But we're not a fully-automated tool, and we're not a traditional full-service accounting firm either. We keep your books accurate and reconciled. We don't file your taxes or give tax advice, run payroll, or manage your invoicing — those need a specialist, and we'll tell you when it's time to bring one in.
